An Oregon man allegedly withdrew all the money from his family’s shared bank accounts before throwing $200,000 out of his car window on a highway in Eugene to “bless others with gifts of money.”
The incident caused a frenzy as people scrambled to pick up the cash, with some even bringing flashlights to aid their search.
However, two individuals were subsequently arrested for accidentally locking themselves out of their car during the chaos.
The man responsible for the stunt, Collin Davis McCarthy, was not criminally charged, but his family has accused him of leaving them broke.
Meanwhile, in Carlsbad, California, an armored truck accidentally spilled money onto Interstate 5, causing a similar frenzy among commuters until police showed up and warned the public that taking any of the money could result in criminal charges.
