Lil Durk, the American rapper, has released his own line of chunky sneakers named “LIL DURK 7220” made in Portugal.
In collaboration with a new company called NXTG3NZ, the artist has launched a line of sneakers merging his fascination with NFTs with his love of sneakers.
The shoes have a Kanye-like chunky quality and are available on the NXTG3NZ website.
However, buyers are not purchasing a physical sneaker but an NFT that will give them access to the sneaker in six months’ time. Furthermore, Lil Durk has partnered with Algorand, a blockchain company, to create a new NFT collection, the 7220 NXTG3NZ.
These phygital collectibles are linked to a real-life version of the sneaker, meaning whoever owns a digital pair will also get a physical pair.
NFT holders will also get exclusive benefits such as access to Lil Durk experiences, concerts and the chance to design a pair of sneakers with his elite creative team.
The collection’s public minting event will go live on April 10th at 11:11 a.m. EDT, and fans can sign up now to secure early access.
