Missouri Republican Senator Mike Moon has come under fire for advocating child rape after proposing a bill to ban gender-affirming treatment for transgender minors in the state, in which he also suggested that children as young as 12 should have the right to marry as long as they have parental consent.
“Do You Know How Many Kids Have Been Married At Age 12?
I Do & Guess What ? They’re All Still Happily Married”
His earlier vote against changing state laws to raise the minimum marrying age was cited by Democratic state Representative Peter Meredith during a debate on Moon’s bill.
Moon’s proposal would bar healthcare providers from performing gender-affirming surgery or prescribing cross-sex hormones or puberty blockers to a minor for gender transition. It would also stop funding for any organization that provides gender reassignment surgery, hormone therapy or puberty blockers to transgender minors.
Moon’s support of child marriage in certain instances has been long documented.
