Habeeb Okikiola, a famous Nigerian singer known as Portable, has been arrested by the Ogun State police command for refusing to attend an invitation within a 72-hour ultimatum.
Two videos surfaced on social media early Tuesday with the musician raining curses and rough-handling some men of the Nigerian police.
As a result, the police publicly threatened to prosecute the singer and forcefully invited him to the station.
Mr Okikiola claimed the police were at his bar to arrest staff members “for no reason,” but the police stated that they acted on a petition.
The police made it clear that they condemned the singer’s conduct, which led to his arrest.
When contacted, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed that the singer was currently cooling his feet at the state headquarters of the police in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Portable was arrested because he refused to honour five invitations by the police.
