Three of the four suspects who were arrested in Cape Town in connection with the killing of South African rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane have been released while one will appear in court today.
The group was apprehended over the weekend in Belhar, Western Cape after allegedly committing several offenses in KwaZulu-Natal where they pretended to be Department of Social Development employees.
Reports suggest that one of the suspects is linked to a series of taxi homicides in KwaZulu-Natal.
Both Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal police have refrained from commenting on the matter, and the suspects are currently in police custody in Cape Town pending their transfer to Durban where they are expected to be charged.
The incident occurred on 10 February when two gunmen opened fire on AKA and his team outside a restaurant in Durban, resulting in the death of AKA’s friend and author Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.
