Dr. Nandipha Magudana is alleged to be on the run after it was confirmed that she is not a registered doctor, according to the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
Magudana made headlines when it emerged that she was reportedly living with convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester, who was believed to have escaped from custody last year.
Bester was serving an effective life sentence for his crimes before reportedly committing suicide by setting himself alight in his cell.
However, a series of reports by GroundUp suggested that he had in fact escaped and was living with Magudana. Since the news of his alleged escape broke, Magudana has not returned to work.
With the HPCSA confirming that she is not registered as a doctor, it is now speculated that she is also evading authorities. The matter continues to be investigated.
