All Progressives Congress, APC has ask for the arrest of Publisher who published the fake news of EFCC raiding and finding N400b in Tinubu’s house, Raw Nigeria reports.
The All Progressives Congress Campaign Council refuted the assertion that N400 billion was found during an EFCC raid on the residence of Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate.
Even while this was happening, the campaign council demanded that the internet publisher who had been spreading the story be detained.
The EFCC also denied conducting any raid on the home of the former governor of Lagos State, prompting the APC PCC to respond.
According to a story published on Sunday, Tinubu surrendered N400 billion in old naira notes to EFCC agents after one of his underground residences was raided.
Before the anti-corruption bureau rejected it on Sunday, the news gathered popularity on social media.
Wilson Uwujaren, the commission’s spokesperson, called the stories “fake news” in a post via its Twitter account in which he denied them.
In a statement that he signed, Bayo Onanuga, Director of PCC Media and Publicity, also mentioned that the campaign council had learned that “the rogue website” had been created to spread hostile and untrue information about his principal.
Onanuga expressed disapproval of the narrative, saying it lacked the crucial “when, where, and how” that are vital components of any news story.
The former managing director of the News Agency of Nigeria praised the EFCC for swiftly denying involvement in the false report by publishing an official statement regarding the alleged raid by its men and asking security forces in the nation to pursue the owners.
