“We have found solution to fuel, cash challenges”, INEC says, clears air over shifting election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has given the public further assurance that the 2023 general elections will go ahead as planned.
This comes after Chairman of the INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, met with the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and addressed State House Correspondents.
He stated that the Commission had already found solutions to both the fuel and cash scarcities, two major concerns that had been raised by stakeholders.
Professor Yakubu also revealed that the Commission had meetings with the National Union of Road Transport Workers and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, as well as the Governor of the Central Bank, to ensure that the election will not be hindered by the current shortages. He concluded that the election will take place on the 25th of February for national and on the 11th of March for the state election.
