‘I paid N1,000 for a litre of fuel’: ex-National APC Chairman Adams Oshiomhole cries in this video

Adams Oshiomhole has raised concerns over the high cost of fuel in Nigeria, despite the government spending over N7trn on fuel subsidies.
In a recent interview, Oshiomhole lamented the fact that he had to pay N1,000 for a litre of fuel, adding that somebody must be held responsible for this.
The former governor of Edo state noted that the N7trn on fuel subsidies does not include the petroleum development fund, and that the current fuel scarcity in the country is not acceptable.

In response to this, the Nigerian Senate has announced plans to investigate the cause of the fuel scarcity and high fuel prices. The Senate has also asked the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to explain the current situation and come up with solutions to address the issue.
The Senate has also called for an investigation into the role of politicians in the fuel crisis, and to determine if they have been taking advantage of the situation to make profits.

The Senate has also urged the NNPC to ensure that fuel is made available to all Nigerians at the market rate, and to put an end to the current fuel scarcity. The Senate has also called on the government to take necessary steps to ensure that fuel subsidies are properly utilized.
It remains to be seen what steps the government will take to address the fuel crisis and ensure that Nigerians are able to access fuel at the market rate.
