Simon Yaya Addy, an orphaned pupil in class six, has touched the hearts of many with his heartbreaking letter recounting the death of his parents and elder brother.
The 18-year-old pupil lost his mother, Joyce Korkor Tetteh, on July 28, 2020, and his father, Nicholas Addy, soon followed due to the pain of his mother and brother’s passing. His brother, Joseph, was only 21 when he died in an accident three days after his mother’s death.
In his letter, Simon prayed for his family’s souls to rest in peace and Wendy Boatemaa Ofori, who shared the letter on Facebook, said that the teenager’s teacher had sent it to her to help get the boy the needed support.
The post has gained more than 500 reactions from netizens who were moved by the sad story.
Myzz Bianca said: “This is so sad, I’m not normally the teary type, but I couldn’t help but shed tears, I hope Jehovah God keeps him strong, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I pray and hope everything turns out well for him, I’ve also dealt with loss before (my dad) but this is too much and in quick succession too. God, please make a way for him. Amen.”
