Honesty really paid as UNILAG promotes security staff for exposing attempt to steal 22,000 litres of diesel
A UNILAG security officer, Joshua Aye, was recently given an accelerated promotion by the University’s governing council for his honest and loyal character.
On Monday, July 22, 2019, Joshua discovered that one of his colleagues was attempting to steal 22,000 litres of diesel from the university and he was honest and loyal enough to report this to the university’s works department.
Joshua displayed a high sense of responsibility in discharging his duty on that day.
His accelerated promotion was a result of a decision meeting of the UNILAG senate Council held on Monday, January 16, 2023.

He was previously a senior security officer, but due to his outstanding performance, loyalty, and honesty, he was promoted to the principal security officer.
